(6) In days to come shall Jacob take root, Israel shall blossom and bud; And the face of the world shall be filled with fruitage. (7) Hath He smitten him as He smote those that smote him? Or is he slain according to the slaughter of them that were slain by Him? (8) In full measure, when Thou sendest her away, Thou dost contend with her; He hath removed her with His rough blast in the day of the east wind.

...The same way he measures out his measures so to it is measured for him [by Hashem] ...It was taught; Rebbe used to say: from where do we know that with the measure that a person measures it is measured [by Hashem] for him? Because it is said: "In full measure, when Thou sendest her away, Thou dost contend with her"

ואמר רבי מלאי בשכר (שמות ד, יד) וראך ושמח בלבו זכה לחשן המשפט על לבו:

(9) Therefore by this shall the iniquity of Jacob be expiated, And this is all the fruit of taking away his sin: When he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in pieces, So that the Asherim and the sun-images shall rise no more. (10) For the fortified city is solitary, A habitation abandoned and forsaken, like the wilderness; There shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, And consume the branches thereof . (11) When the boughs thereof are withered, They shall be broken off; The women shall come, and set them on fire; For it is a people of no understanding; Therefore He that made them will not have compassion upon them, And He that formed them will not be gracious unto them.
וכל מי שאין בו דעה אסור לרחם עליו שנאמר (ישעיהו כז, יא) כי לא עם בינות הוא על כן לא ירחמנו עושהו
It is forbidden to have mercy upon one who does not possess knowledge ; as it is said, "For it is a people of no understanding, therefore He that made them will not have compassion upon them" (Is. xxvii. 11).

Rabbi Chaninah says: anyone who says that Hashem is a "disregarder" [He disregards sins] his life will be disregarded. As it says ...

(13) And it shall come to pass in that day, That a great horn shall be blown; And they shall come that were lost in the land of Assyria, And they that were dispersed in the land of Egypt; And they shall worship the LORD in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

(1) Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, And to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, Which is on the head of the fat valley of them that are smitten down with wine! (2) Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, As a storm of hail, a tempest of destruction, As a storm of mighty waters overflowing, That casteth down to the earth with violence. (3) The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim Shall be trodden under foot; (4) And the fading flower of his glorious beauty, Which is on the head of the fat valley, Shall be as the first-ripe fig before the summer, Which when one looketh upon it, While it is yet in his hand he eateth it up. (5) In that day shall the LORD of hosts be For a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, Unto the residue of His people; (6) And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, And for strength to them that turn back the battle at the gate. (7) But these also reel through wine, And stagger through strong drink; The priest and the prophet reel through strong drink, They are confused because of wine, They stagger because of strong drink; They reel in vision, they totter in judgment. (8) For all tables are full of filthy vomit, and no place is clean.

R. Elazar further said in the name of R. Hanina: God will in the time to come be a crown on the head of every righteous man, as it is said, “In that day the Lord of Hosts will be for a crown of glory and for a diadem of beauty” (Isaiah 28:5) What is meant by a “crown of glory (tzvi)” and a “diadem [zefirat] of beauty”? For them that do his will [tzivyono] and who await [mezapin] his glory. Shall He be so to all? Scripture says, “To the residue of [lish’ar] his people,” that is, to whoever makes of himself a mere residue [shirayim]. “And for a spirit of judgement” this indicates one who judges his inclination. “To him that sits in judgement” this indicates one who gives a true verdict on true evidence. “And for strength” this indicates one who subdues his evil passions. “That turn back the battle”:this indicates those who give and take in the war of the Torah. At the gate”: these are the disciples of the sages who come early and leave late in synagogues and houses of study. The Attribute of Justice said before the Holy One, blessed be He: Master of the Universe: Why this difference between these and the others? (He replied; Master of the Universe: Israel toils in Torah, the nations of the world do not toil in Torah.) He replied to Him, He replied to Him, “But they also reel through wine, and stagger through strong drink,” they totter in judgement [paku peliliyah]; and “paku” refers only to Gehinnom, as it says, “That this shall be no stumbling-block [pukah] for you” (I Samuel 25:31); and “peliliyah” contains a reference to the judges, as it says, “And he shall pay as the judges determine [bi-felilim]” (Exodus 21:22).

There is a teaching to the same effect : R. Nathan said : Whence is it that the Holy One, blessed be He, does not reject the prayer offered by many? As it is said, "Behold, God despiseth not the mighty"; and it is written, "He hath redeemed my soul in peace so that none came nigh me ; for they were many with me."
