Vayeshev -No Rest for the Righteous

[We thank You] for the miracles....You, in Your abundant mercy, stood by them in their time of distress,

Now Jacob was settled in the land where his father had sojourned, the land of Canaan.

AND HE ABODE — Jacob wished to live at ease, but this trouble in connection with Joseph suddenly came upon him. When the righteous wish to live at ease, the Holy one, blessed be He), says to them: “Are not the righteous satisfied with what is stored up for them in the world to come that they wish to live at ease in this world too! (Genesis Rabbah 84:3)

Strange Rashi - Yaakov is the perfect candidate for a respite. Yaakov has experienced difficulties with Esav, Lavan, Dinah, Reuvan, Rachel, Shimon & Levi and now the story of Yosef sold into slavery. What is the midrash message when it states there will be rest in the next world?
From the Sefer "L'Hitaneg B'Tanugim" - The Saba of Kelm explains the main way for a person to grow in their service of HaShem is through life's challenges and tests. He explains HaShem only brings a challenge on which a person can overcome.
The Saba of Kelm explains this alluded to in the words of ברוך שאמר.
When HaShem decrees a challenge for a person, He also provides the necessary strength to withstand and overcome the test.
This idea is reflected in the words of עַל הַנִּסִּים....
[We thank You] for the miracles....You, in Your abundant mercy, stood by them in their time of distress,...
Among the many timeless messages of Chanukah is HaShem guiding providence and support even during the darkest of times of the Jewish people.
The righteous Yaakov had more spiritual potential which needed to be actualized. This world is not designed for resting.
Each and everyone one of us have difficulties and trials in our personal and professional lives. One message of the midrash is that within every challenge is the opportunity to grow as a person and strengthen faith and trust in HaShem.
