Clal's Belonging Project: Sources on the Importance of Belonging
These are some foundational texts showing the Jewish tradition's teaching about the need for belonging in Jewish community.

(9) Two are better off than one, in that they have greater benefit from their earnings.(10) For should they fall, one can raise the other; but woe betide him who is alone and falls with no companion to raise him!

(4) Hillel said: do not separate yourself from the community, Do not trust in yourself until the day of your death, Do not judge your fellow man until you have reached his place.

(2) R. Hananiah ben Teradion said: ...When two people sit together and words of Torah are uttered between them, the Shechinah (Divine presence) abides between them.

And it is taught in a baraita: A Torah scholar is not permitted to reside in any city that does not have a charity fund for which monies are collected by two people and distributed by three.
