A Moment of Hebrew

Stone them with rocks, for they tried to make you stray from God your Lord, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
לְבַקֵּשׁ levakesh (שֹׁרֶשׁ ב.ק.ש)
  • To request or ask
  • To demand
  • To seek
בִּקּוּשׁ (bikush) = Demand (how much people want something)
מְבֻקָּשׁ (mevukash) = Wanted
בְּבַקָּשָׁה (bevakashah) = Please
Find the Word!
When Yosef is sent to find his brothers, he encounters a man who asks what Yosef is seeking. Both the question and Yosef’s response use this שֹׁרֶשׁ (shoresh, root). Can you find them both? (Hint: Look at Bereishit 37.)
