Growing up Rabbi Adina Allen found sanctuary in her mother's art studio. Her mother, well-known art therapist, Pat B. Allen, instilled in Adina that the act of creativity, whatever it looked like was always welcome. Through her Rabbinic school journey, and engagement with the textual traditions of Judaism and Jewish learning, Adina drew parallels to the processes of creativity that she often turned to in her youth. In this chapter, Rabbi Allen invites us into the world that inspired the Jewish Studio Project, and the Jewish Studio Process that continues to alter how we think about creativity, text study, and art. https://adina-allen.com
A Blessing for Creativity - R. Adina Allen
ברוך אתה הי מקור החיים שברא אותנו בצלמו
ומזמין אותנו לחדש בכל יום תמיד מעשה בראשית.
ברוך אתה הי יצר יצירתים.

Blessed are You, Source of Life, who created us in Your image and invite us daily to renew the work of creation. Blessed are You who created us creative.
"....building off of the formula of traditional Jewish blessings, I created a Blessing for Creativity. Taking ideas and phrases from Jewish liturgy and weaving them together, this contemporary blessing connects our creativity to divine creativity and sanctifies our creative work as being in partnership with God in the ongoing work of creation." (Rabbi Adina Allen, The Place of All Possibility, 25)
