(14) And יהוה said to Moses, “Pharaoh is stubborn; he refuses to let the people go.(15) Go to Pharaoh in the morning, as he is coming out to the water, and station yourself before him at the edge of the Nile, taking with you the rod that turned into a snake.(16) And say to him, ‘יהוה, the God of the Hebrews, sent me to you to say, “Let My people go that they may worship Me in the wilderness.” But you have paid no heed until now.(17) Thus says יהוה, “By this you shall know that I am יהוה.” See, I shall strike the water in the Nile with the rod that is in my hand, and it will be turned into blood;(18) and the fish in the Nile will die. The Nile will stink so that the Egyptians will find it impossible to drink the water of the Nile.’”(19) And יהוה said to Moses, “Say to Aaron: Take your rod and hold out your arm over the waters of Egypt—its rivers, its canals, its ponds, all its bodies of water—that they may turn to blood; there shall be blood throughout the land of Egypt, even in vessels of wood and stone.”(20) Moses and Aaron did just as יהוה commanded: he lifted up the rod and struck the water in the Nile in the sight of Pharaoh and his courtiers, and all the water in the Nile was turned into blood(21) and the fish in the Nile died. The Nile stank so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile; and there was blood throughout the land of Egypt.(22) But when the Egyptian magician-priests did the same with their spells, Pharaoh’s heart stiffened and he did not heed them—as יהוה had spoken.(23) Pharaoh turned and went into his palace, paying no regard even to this.(24) And all the Egyptians had to dig round about the Nile for drinking water, because they could not drink the water of the Nile.(25) When seven days had passed after יהוה struck the Nile.

(14) And the Lord said to Moshe, Par῾o’s heart is hardened, he refuses to let the people go. (15) Get thee to Par῾o in the morning; lo, he goes out to the water; and thou shalt stand by the River’s brink to meet him; and the rod which was turned to a snake shalt thou take in thy hand. (16) And thou shalt say to him, The Lord God of the Hebrews has sent me to thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, till now thou wouldst not hear. *(17) Thus says the Lord, In this thou shalt know that I am the Lord: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in my hand upon the water in the River, and it shall be turned to blood. (18) And the fish that is in the River shall die, and the river shall stink; and Miżrayim shall no longer be able to drink the water of the River.
(19)And the Lord spoke to Moshe, Say to Aharon, Take thy rod, and stretch out thy hand upon the waters of Miżrayim, upon their streams, upon their canals, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Miżrayim, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone. (20) And Moshe and Aharon did so, as the Lord commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the River, in the sight of Par῾o, and in the sight of his servants; and all the water that was in the River was turned to blood. (21) And the fish that was in the River died; and the River stank, and Miżrayim could not drink of the water of the River; and there was blood throughout all the land of Miżrayim. (22) And the magicians of Par῾o did so with their secret arts: and Par῾o’s heart was hardened, neither did he hearken to them; as the Lord had said. (23) And Par῾o turned and went to his house, neither did he set his heart even to this. (24) And all Miżrayim dug round about the River for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the River. (25) And seven days were completed, after the Lord had smitten the River.
