Mark 15:22-36
22Then they brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha (which means the place of a skull). 23And they offered him wine mixed with myrrh; but he did not take it.
They give me gall for food, vinegar to quench my thirst. (Ps. 69:22)
my tongue cleaves to my palate (Ps. 22.16)
24And they crucified him, and divided his clothes among them, casting lots to decide what each should take.
They divide my clothes among themselves, casting lots for my garments. (Ps. 22.18)
25 It was nine o’clock in the morning when they crucified him. 26The inscription of the charge against him read, ‘The King of the Jews.’ 27And with him they crucified two bandits, one on his right and one on his left.
Dogs surround me; a pack of evil ones closes in on me, like lions [they maul] my hands and feet. (Ps. 22.16)
29Those who passed by derided him, shaking their heads and saying, ‘Aha! You who would destroy the temple and build it in three days, 30save yourself, and come down from the cross!’ 31In the same way the chief priests, along with the scribes, were also mocking him among themselves and saying, ‘He saved others; he cannot save himself.
All who see me mock me; ”they curl their lips, they shake their heads. (9) “Let him commit himself to the LORD; let Him rescue him, let Him save him, for He is pleased with him.” (Ps. 22.17-18)
32Let the Messiah, the King of Israel, come down from the cross now, so that we may see and believe.’ Those who were crucified with him also taunted him.
I take the count of all my bones while they look on and gloat. (Ps. 22.17)
33 When it was noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.
And in that day, declares the my LORD GOD, I will make the sun set at noon, I will darken the earth on a sunny day. (Amos 8:9)
34At three o’clock Jesus cried out with a loud voice, ‘Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?’ which means, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’
My God, my God, why have You abandoned me; why so far from delivering me and from my anguished roaring? (Ps. 22.2)
35When some of the bystanders heard it, they said, ‘Listen, he is calling for Elijah.’ 36And someone ran, filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a stick, and gave it to him to drink,
They give me gall for food, vinegar to quench my thirst (Ps. 69.21)
saying, ‘Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to take him down.’
Luke 23:46
Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, ‘Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.’ Having said this, he breathed his last.
You free me from the net laid for me, for You are my stronghold. (6) Into Your hand I entrust my spirit; You redeem me, O LORD, faithful God. (Ps. 31:6-7)
Matt. 27:51-54
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, and the rocks were split. The tombs also were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. After his resurrection they came out of the tombs and entered the holy city and appeared to many. Now when the centurion and those with him, who were keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were terrified and said, ‘Truly this man was God’s Son!
On that day, He will set His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, near Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives shall split across from east to west, and one part of the Mount shall shift to the north and the other to the south, a huge gorge. (Zech. 14:4)
