Slavery in Egyptian Jewish Society during the Middle Ages
Slavery has for centuries been a part of Jewish society as it was in the broader society. We will explore the opinions of two leading poskim, Rambam and Radbaz, on the relations between Jews and slaves. We will also see how the practical psak of the Rambam purposefully deviates from the Halachic ideal he himself codified in his Mishneh Torah.
